Neighborhood Watch
What is Neighborhood Watch?
Most neighborhood crime prevention groups are organized around a block, neighborhood, or subdivision. These groups receive strong encouragement from law enforcement because communities where citizens observe and report suspicious activity tend to experience lower crime rates. The objective is to create an environment that removes opportunities for criminal activities, rather than solely focusing on changing the motivation of offenders.
Chancellor Green Does Not Currently Have a Neighborhood Watch Program
Currently, the Chancellor Green community does not have a neighborhood watch program. However, the safety and security of our residents remain a top priority.

Should you ever witness any suspicious activity, please don't hesitate to take action. Contact the Spotsylvania Sheriff's office at 540-507-7200 to report any concerns or potential threats. For emergencies, dial 911 immediately to receive immediate assistance.
Your vigilance and cooperation play a vital role in maintaining the well-being of our community. Together, we can create a safe and welcoming environment for all Chancellor Green residents. Stay aware and stay safe!
Starting and Maintaining Neighborhood Watch
1. Plan Strategies: Begin by devising effective strategies that address the specific issues in your area.
2. Foster Collaboration: Build a strong relationship and cooperation between law enforcement and residents.
3. Assess Needs: Conduct a thorough assessment of the neighborhood's security requirements.
4. Train Volunteers: Select and train dedicated volunteers to actively participate in the Neighborhood Watch.
5. Engage Residents: Develop meaningful projects that involve and benefit the residents of the community.

How Can You Get Involved?
Join us at the monthly Neighborhood Watch meeting held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. The meeting takes place at the Sheriff's substation in the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with others involved in building and strengthening Neighborhood Watch groups. Moreover, you'll have the chance to listen to engaging speakers on various important topics.
